MEElectronics M6P/M6 IEM's Review

Introduction

MEElectronics is relatively a new brand in the current Audio device market. Setup up in 2005, Mee evolved to a point where they are offering good quality peripherals at decent prices. MEElectronics stared making media players, but at the beginning of 2010 changed focus to earphones.

This time around, we managed to grab a review piece of the MEElectronics M6P, the microphone-version of the popular M6 , which is basically targeted at iPhone and iPod Touch users. The only difference between the M6P and the M6 is the microphone itself, with the design, build and audio driver all being exactly the same.

If you crave for Bass and detail at the same time.... This is surely a no brainer.

I can't agree with this review at all.

I've been hoping the sound improve after hours of burn-in, but nope.

The Soundstage is incomplete. The sound is very tinny and the Mids is very very harsh without the E5. The treble is overshadowed by the mid's, no matter with the E5 or without.

The bass is underwhelming and totally uncontrolled. Quantity improves with the E5, but quality remains the same, below par.

Only positive is that instrument separation is quite good.
Whilst the very very bright sound gives me a headache in about 15 minutes.

I would give these earphones a 3/10. (This is after I have paid Rs.1990 for them btw)

If you want a good pair of budget earphones, get the EP-830 or PL-30.
Anything above Rs.1000 goes out of the "Budget" range.

NE-7M/NE-6 or even the PL-50 over the ME6 anyday.

A detailed and well versed review Vikid, I liked reading it and your selection of words in this.

but I am confused as to why AAd1 has given this a total opposite eval...

I will have to listen to them and then make my judgment.

Really dont know why it is the case with Ad1.

But head on comparison with the NE7m... both stand their own ground.

Maybe your a Detail guy.

I also found these somewhat close to the Denon AH-C551's.

Yeah, I used an iPhone 4 as the Source, as well as the iPad.

Tried it on my Zero DAC too, but it was even worse on it.

I A/B'd them with the NE7m .... thus the conclusion.

The M6 are slightly light on the details, exactly where the NE7 shine....BUT! where the NE7 lacks ...M6 kick ass.
The General consumer basically likes the "boom boom" SQ ... that is where these come in and not the PL30's and the Ne6/7m.

If the M6 sounds as bad as you say Ad1tya, it seems like a fit issue. I initially thought they weren't very good, but trying different tips with a different insertion angle and a deeper insertion the sound improved dramatically. Check their user manual on the meelec.com site.

The fit is perfectly fine for me with the Double Flange'd tip.

I infact used Foam tips with them, none of the Stock tips.

I'm just hoping after a few more days of burn-in they will sound better. For now, at around 20 hours burn in the Mids and Treble are just harsh and unbearable.

:S.. I'm not a retard. I know what a good fit is.

It isn't a fit issue. It's hopefully a not-burned-in-enough issue.
